Insurgents in Thailand likely use the maritime domain to transit drugs and small arms into the country. The profits support on-shore insurgency activity and overall insurgency resilience. Without adequate maritime domain awareness and more dedicated maritime law enforcement assets, Thailand’s waters will likely remain vulnerable to exploitation by insurgency groups.
